Hypothesis
Hypothesis is a provisional theory set forth to
explain some class of phenomena, either accepted as a guide to future
investigation or assumed for the sake of argument and testing. It is a
proposition assumed as a premise in an argument. Hypothesis is a mere
assumption or guess.

The purpose of hypothesis to guide or gives
direction to the study or investigation. It defines facts that are relevant and
not relevant. Hypothesis suggests which form of research design is likely to be
the most appropriate. Hypothesis limits the research to specific area. It
offers explanations for the relationships between those variables that can be
empirically tested.
