SOCIAL GROUP
a social group is a number of individuals interacting with each other with respect to:
1.         Common motives and goals;
2.         An accepted division of labor, i.e. roles,
3.         Established status (social rank, dominance) relationships;
4.         Accepted norms and values with reference to matters relevant to the group;
5.         Development of accepted sanctions (praise and punishment) if and when norms
or short and simple:
A group of people who interact with each other and are aware of having something in common.
A social group consists of two or more people who regularly interact and consider themselves a part of the group. Sociologists differentiate between several different types of social groups. Enduring primary groups are those that are close-knit and intimate and are typically small scale. Most of our primary groups consist of family and close friends. The nuclear family, which is a pair of adults and their children, is considered the ideal primary group. Secondary groups are those that are more impersonal and temporary. Most of our secondary groups are from work and school. Finally, reference groups are those that we look to for guidance when evaluating our own behaviors and attitudes. They act as a role model to which we can compare ourselves.
crowd
A crowd is a small and definable group of people, while "the crowd" is referred to as the so-called lower orders of people in general (the mob). A crowd may be definable through a common purpose or set of emotions, such as at a political rally, at a sports event, or during looting (this is known as a psychological crowd), or simply be made up of many people going about their business in a busy area (e.g. shopping). Everybody in the context of general public or the common people is normally referred to as the masses.
THE FOLK
The common people of a society or region considered as the representatives of a traditional way of life and especially as the originators or carriers of the customs, beliefs, and arts that make up a distinctive culture: a leader who came from the folk.
PUBLIC
the people constituting a community, state, or nation
a particular group of people with a common interest, aim


audience
a group of people who have come to a place to see or hear a film, performance,speech etc.
 The people who watch a sports match or other large event are usuallycalled spectators or the crowd.

Mass means, a group of people and communication means, a process by which we can share our ideas, Our thoughts, our views and our knowledge so, mass communication means, “A process, by which we can share our ideas, our views, our knowledge and our thoughts in a heterogeneous, anonymous masses of receives.
